Buckwheat digestive waffles


Gluten free, dairy free, full of wholesomeness and goodness for you digestion.

This batter can be used for pancakes as well if you don't have a waffle maker.

A look at the ingredients

Buckwheat is gluten free, but the name can be confusing as it is not related to wheat in any way. It contains a good source of iron, magnesium and potassium. The darker the buckwheat is the more nutritious it becomes. It full of fibre and antioxidants. It also contain protein and the good type of carbohydrate.

Hemp seeds are full of good omegas 3 and 6, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, Vitamin E and also high in fibre which is good for the gut. Hemp seed also are a good source of protein with 11g of it in just 3 tablespoons of hemp seeds.

Flaxseed meal is well known for its digestive properties being high in fibre and omega 6 and 3. Also containing protein full chain similar to soy.

All these ingredients assist in weight management, better digestion and reducing the rate of type 2 diabetes and cancer as long as the rest of your diet looks something like this :P.

Ingredients

serves 5 but you can half the amounts if you have less people.

2 cups of organic Buckwheat flour

1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil melted

1 teaspoon of real vanilla essence

2 tablespoon of organic flaxseed meal ( I buy the seeds and whip the amount i need through the bullet means it is fresh and has not oxidised)

1 teaspoon of organic hemp seeds

1 Free ranged egg

2 cups of your chosen milk I use Bonsoy but your can used organic almond milk as well.

add 1/4 cup water or more if needed to get the right consistency.

For when they are cooks

Fruit

Real maple syrup from the tree.

You would have noticed i have added no sugar or sugar substitute and they taste great without it.

Instructions

1.Mix it all together making sure you have the right consistency.

2. Heat the waffle maker and spray with coconut oil

3. cook following the machine instructions and then add a little maple and fruit of choice.
