Crystal Cleansing and Charging

Did you know that crystal take on the energy from their surroundings and from the person who owns them. It important to cleanse and recharge your crystal to it natural frequency a few times year or more if you're using them for healing to get the most of of their healing properties. It especially important to cleanse a crystal when you first receive it or buy one.

How do you cleanse and charge a crystal?

There quite a number of ways to do this depending on the crystal. Some crystal can't be put in the sunlight as it may cause them to loose colour, some cant be run under water because of the type of mineral they are made from. So make sure you check what type of crystal it is before using some of these methods.

Smudging : Burn palo Santo or sage and hold the crystal into the smoke to cleanse the energy. This can be done with all crystal and is the safest way to cleanse.

Moonlight/Sunlight: Lay crystal out on a full moon overnight to recharge this can be done with any crystal. Lay crystal in sunlight from drawn to dusk some crystal like Amethyst may fade in harsh sunlight so be aware of this.

Water: place your crystal under fresh running water for a few minutes to cleanse and energies. This method is not suitable for delicate or porous stones such as celestite.

Other crystals: some crystal can be recharged or cleansed by other crystal selenite for example is self cleansing and can cleanse other crystals. Placing smaller crystals onto of selenite overnight will cleanse and recharge their energy. This is ideal for jewellery using a selenite wand which has a flat service.
